Iruma Takumi (タクミ・イルマ, Takumi Iruma) is the main protagonist of the Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time series.
Appearance[]
Takumi is depicted as a teenager with a youthful and somewhat lean build, contrasting with his mature and composed demeanor. He has medium-length silver hair, often slightly tousled, that gives him a casual yet refined look. He has deep brown eyes that exude a sense of warmth and determination. He often wears practical and comfortable attire suitable for an adventurer and alchemist. This includes a mix of tunics, trousers, and cloaks, sometimes adorned with various alchemical tools and materials.
Personality[]
Takumi is a kind young man who tends to help people in need. He tends to become too engrossed at times when he is participating in his hobbies, such as Alchemy and Blacksmithing, to the point of negatively affecting his health. He also has this tendency to help other people, such as when he was working on helping dispel the curse placed upon Sofia, ingesting the poison and wounding himself, then healing himself to level up his Light Magic skill level.
History[]
Iruma Takumi was originally a Japanese salaryman from Earth but was summoned to the world Mildgard by a Goddess named Nolyn. She explains to Takumi that his summoning was accidental, but she cannot send him back to his world, so she resurrects him in her world, Mildgard, in a teenage form. When he arrives in Mildgard, he is in a forest and, through trial and error, comes to the aid of a young child who is being attacked by a monster. After saving and befriending the child, they bring him to the village where they live, Bord Village, which he discovers is in the kingdom of Barcula. Takumi is invited to stay in the village as long as he wishes, even having a house built there, with Takumi quickly befriending the people of the village. Sometime later, while leveling up his Light Magic skill level, he is attacked by a 'Huge Iron Boar', which shrugs off his attacks until he uses his Alchemy skill, Decompose. He encounters a wounded 'unique monster, ' a Poison Spider during this battle. After the battle, he heals the Poison Spider and gains the ability of Tame. Takumi tames the Spider, who, due to a marking on her back that is shaped like a maple leaf, he names Maple, who, after being tamed, evolves into a Killer Spider. With Maple in tow, Takumi returns to Bord Village.

Arrival at Bord Village
The events of his first day in Mildgard differ depending on the media. In the anime, he saves a young girl named Molly, who is the daughter of Banga and Martha, while in the manga, he saves a young boy named Glark, who isn't related to Banga and Martha. In the web novel, Takumi arrives at Bord village by himself.

Maple[]
The first familiar contracted by Takumi was initially a simple arachnid monster. Thanks to the Divine Protection of Goddess Norn, which influences all familiars in contracts, she eventually evolved into an Arachne.
Maria[]
A slave Takumi bought, later on, she would be freed and become one of his wives.
Sofia Sylphide[]
An elf who Takumi bought as a slave, she was later freed and became one of his wives. She has dedicated her life to Takumi, even claiming that even after he died, she would defend his grave.
Reyva[]
A fox beast-kin who Takumi bought as a slave.Reyva was freed lazer along with Maria and Sofia. She is interested in learning alchemy from Takumi.
Máni[]
A rabbit beast-kin widow, she started working as Takumi's personal maid and later became one of his wives.
Powers & Abilities[]
Divine Protection of Goddess Norn is the blessing bestowed by the goddess, allowing the Iruma Takumi to evolve at an abnormal speed compared to others. This blessing is granted when the goddess authorizes the invocation of another world. However, since the Holy Sidonia Empire summoned heroes without the goddess's authorization, they only possess high stats, but their evolution remains the same as the people of Mildgard.

- Takumi claims to have had a quite active sex life in his past life.
- The anime thankfully omits how he created underwear for Sofia and Maria; in the manga he made the bonehead move of using HIMSELF as the model instead of a mannequin. It's the reason he looks so worn out when they finally get the underwear; he was severely traumatized by the sight of himself in a bra and panties.
